What this site keeps, and why.
This notice covers northstarautonomous.com — the pages, the forms and the two sign-in doors. The service itself (the front desk that answers a client's phone) is governed by the client's agreement with us.
Cookies and storage
This website sets no tracking cookies and loads nothing from advertising networks. Two small things are kept in your browser's own storage, and only there: your light-or-dark choice, and your answer on the privacy banner. Neither leaves your device. The booking page keeps the id of a booking you made so you can cancel it; the client portal uses one session cookie so you stay signed in, which is set only after you sign in; and a new client's onboarding page uses one session cookie, set only when you open your own onboarding link, so your answers can be saved and found again.
Counting visits
Visits are counted by Cloudflare Web Analytics, which does not use cookies, does not fingerprint devices and does not follow you to other sites. It tells us how many people read a page, from which country, on what kind of device.
If you choose Allow click counting on the banner, the site also records which of its own buttons were pressed — “book a call”, “open the price list”, a search with no result — with the page it happened on and nothing that identifies you. If you choose Essential only, nothing is recorded. You can change your answer any time from “Privacy choices” at the bottom of every page.
What you send us
The note form. Your name, business, phone or email, the topic you picked and what you wrote are kept so that we can reply and, if you become a client, so we do not ask you to start from zero. They are stored on our own server in the United States, sent to the founder as a notification, and used for nothing else. We do not sell or share them.
The occasional notes list. Your email address and the date you signed up, with the sentence you were shown when you did. We write when there is something worth reading and never more than once a month. Every note carries a way to stop, and you can also write to us at info@northstarautonomous.com.
Email to info@ or sales@. Your message is delivered to our team's inbox, and you get one automatic confirmation that it arrived. So that the same person is not answered twice, a scrambled fingerprint of your address — not the address itself — is kept for twenty-four hours and then discarded. Nothing else about your email is kept outside the inbox it was delivered to.
Your onboarding information. When you become a client, what you enter on your onboarding page — your business details, hours, services, answers, the people and numbers calls go to — is kept on our own server in the United States and used to set up and run your service, and for nothing else. If you bought texting, the registration carriers require asks for your federal tax ID; it is kept with your onboarding record and used for that registration only. Only you, through your own link, and the North Star staff setting you up can read it. Our change log records which answers changed and when, never what they said.
The booking page. The name, number and note you give when you book are handed to the business you are booking with; that is what they are for. We keep them as part of that business's diary.
Paying
When you buy a plan, the payment page is Stripe's, not ours. Stripe collects your card and your phone number; we receive a record of what was bought, the amount, and the phone and email you gave, so we can set you up. We never see or store your card number.
The booking page and the portal
Both doors are rate-limited and never indexed by search engines. The portal signs you in with a code texted to the mobile number on the account; we keep no password. Signing out ends the session.
Links to other sites
When you follow a link from this site to another company's ordinary web page, the address carries a plain marker saying it came from northstarautonomous.com, so we can tell which pages send people where. It is a fixed label, not an identifier. We never add it to sign-in, payment, download or other sensitive links.
Your choices
Ask us what we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it: info@northstarautonomous.com. We answer within thirty days, usually much sooner. Residents of states with a privacy law have the rights that law gives them, and we honour them without asking which state.
